Toronto is the first stop of David Tao Love Can World Tour in North America. The concert was held last night at Air Canada Centre.
The stage was not beautifully decorated as in his Asian tour. Yet DT and his band performed an incredible great show for 2.5 hours! Most of his songs he played were similar to the ones at Soul Power with an addition of a few songs from the latest two albums. Too bad he didn’t sing 流沙, Angel, Dear God, and many other songs. Well, it’s just too short of the time to sing all of his songs, all good songs! Anyhow, it’s amazing to see DT perform live. He’s just way too good!!! His concert wasn’t about his solo performance or his own success. He really showed the team effort and how much he appreciated his friends and the whole team. His band was so great! Chorus (David Tan, Lisa, Kewai) were so talented and sparkling. And I think Adrian got hooked on Kewai, not?! Haha. Mo (drums), KC (bass), and Daniel (another guitarist?) were also amazing. Kheng Long 吳慶隆 (band leader) was simply unbelievable, he’s so shy!!!
I really like DT’s mixing of the west and the east in his songs, especially adding the elements like Chinese musical instruments to enrich the songs. It’s great that DT can perform at ACC ‘cuz the overall audio visual experience was good. Just that the 3-minute short video as a transition was a bit funny, guess he’s trying to lead the theme to the next part.
It’s really an unforgettable nite! And friends (for those of you who can’t come or chose not to come), you miss a lot!!
